Camilla

I am a French and Italian graduate, and alongside my work as a songwriter, I am both a London and residential tutor. I have taught all ages from Reception to undergraduate level, specialising in the 7+/11+/13+ and senior school scholarships, as well as interview preparation.

How I tutor

I believe that it is important to make students’ lessons as interactive as possible, and I hope to create an environment in which they feel comfortable to make mistakes, allowing students to overcome their fear of being wrong, which is certainly something I was afraid of when I was younger. If you don't make mistakes, there is no room for growth. That is a big part of what mentoring means to me, and I hope that I can share that with my students.

Why I tutor

I was lucky to grow up with parents who worked in education. My father was a French teacher and is now a prep school Headmaster. As a result, I've effectively had an educational mentor throughout my whole life, and I hope to replicate that same dedication with everyone I mentor.

Testimonials

'Camilla has been teaching my 7-year-old son since last year, and when lockdown started, she began to tutor him every day. Not only is she a fantastic tutor whom my son adores, but she could not have been more efficient and organised during lockdown, enabling my husband and me to continue our full-time work. I cannot recommend her enough. Camilla managed to provide my children with schooling whilst their schools were closed and I feel reassured that they haven’t missed out on months of education thanks to her. She will continue to mentor my son in preparation for the 11+ to various schools in London over the next few years after we decided he wouldn’t take the 7+ last January. The progress I have seen in my son’s work and attitude to school is astounding and I’m thrilled Camilla can continue to work with us.
Camilla is an entirely dependable and conscientious person, and a lovely, caring and kind individual. I’m very happy to vouch for her.’
