Daniella

I am reading French and Spanish for an M.St. at Oriel College, Oxford this year. I graduated in May 2020 from Columbia University magna cum laude with a degree in Comparative Literature and Society. As a native Spanish speaker, I have always loved languages and literature, and I have tutored students in English and Spanish for the last four years. I also specialise in French, as well as writing and essay editing, having served as both a writer and editor for various publications at Columbia.

How I tutor

I tutor the way I like others to teach me: by asking me the right questions to help me arrive at a problem or question by myself. Particularly in languages, I also like teaching by example and helping students pick up on patterns. The most important thing I hope to do as a tutor is to encourage a student to grasp a deep understanding of what they are studying in order to be able to think critically and independently.

Why I tutor

I consider myself lucky in that I love learning. I hope to share this passion with others, and help open doors to new worlds for students by instructing them in a new language and encouraging them to appreciate literature.
