Francesca

I am a music graduate with five years of experience as a piano and music theory teacher. I am trained in both classical and jazz piano, offering students the option to progress through to Grade 8 or learn in a more relaxed setting. I teach a range of students and ages, from complete beginners to those wanting to restart an old hobby. I also tutor Music GCSE and A-Level, and I have three years of experience mentoring prospective applicants for the Music Undergraduate Degree Interview and Test process for Oxford University.

How I tutor

My experience as a tutor has taught me that a thorough, adaptable and individual approach is essential to getting the most out of each student’s learning experience. Finding enjoyable and creative ways to engage my students is my priority. I aim to empower my students so that they feel confident in their own abilities.

Why I tutor

Music has been an invaluable source of both joy and discipline in my life. Learning an instrument from a young age taught me to find my voice and gave me the self-motivation to apply myself to furthering my abilities and finding creative solutions, skills which have been invaluable both as a student and professionally. Everyone should have access to a tailored learning experience, and it is a joy to be able to help someone find both their creative and academic passion.

Testimonials

I have successfully helped students from a range of ages and experiences make considerable progress with learning the piano, with 80% of my students passing ABRSM Grade exams with Distinction.
